Thalipeeth Bhajne

Maharastrian Thalipeeth Bhajne Atta is readily available in supermarkets which is easy to use but not necessarily fresh. Why buy when it can be easily made at home ?

Lightly dry roast all the listed ingredients one by one on lowest flame until they turn light brown and cool them down completely. Keep stiring constantly so that grains do not burn.

Dry Roast List:

1 Kg Rice, 250 gms Whole Wheat, 500 gms Sorghum / Jowar, 1/2 cup Bajri (Pearl Millet), 1/2 cup Urad Dal ( Split Black Gram), 1 cup Channa Dal ( Chick Pea Split)

Aromatics :

2 TBSP Coriander Seeds

1 TBSP Cumin Seeds
Method

  1. Lightly dry roast all the listed ingredients one by one on lowest flame until they turn light brown and cool them down completely. Keep stiring constantly so that grains do not burn.
  2. Ground the grains and legume along with 2 tbsp Coriander Seeds and 1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds to a fine powder and leave it in a deep plate to cool down completely and store in an air tight container. Leaving the container in the refrigerator to prolong its life.img_20180306_1741261500393260.jpg
